Marie Woodson with supporters and community members
Hello, friends

A note of thanks.

My sincere appreciation to the residents, supporters, and volunteers for their unwavering support as I was re-elected as State Representative for District 105. Since my first term in 2020, I have always been working for everyone in the District and Florida — and I will continue to bring dedicated, caring, and dependable leadership to all residents.

I am humbled and honored to continue the work. During my previous terms, I sponsored, debated, and fought for legislation that benefits the lives of Floridians — delivering on my pledge to never forget the families, businesses, and communities who placed their confidence in me. Some of the bills I filed were signed into law, and I secured over $6.7 million in the state budget for the District and local projects.

Meet Marie

Four decades of service.

Representative Marie Woodson has built a career on a simple conviction: public service works best when it's closest to the people. With 40 years of public-service leadership, she spent decades as a public administrator and community advocate before her election to the Florida House.

She is the first Haitian-American State Representative elected in Broward County — representing Pembroke Pines, Davie, and the surrounding communities of District 105. She has called Hollywood home for 30 years, alongside her husband Robert and their children Bradley and Kelly.

The platform

What we're fighting for.

Six priorities, every one of them shaped by the families of District 105 and the work of legislating for Florida.

i.

Improve Education

Our public schools need real support from the state legislature — for students, teachers, and parents alike.
  • Physical security upgrades and a positive school climate
  • Teacher salaries that reflect education as a priority
  • Open communication and real parent involvement
ii.

Make Healthcare Affordable

America needs to move from a sick-care system to a true healthcare system that families can afford.
  • Advocate for Medicaid expansion and revision
  • Address mental-health needs in our communities
  • Cap drug prices so life-saving care is affordable
iii.

Improve Public Transportation

District 105 needs transit that is convenient and cost-effective for everyone who depends on it.
  • Shift funding toward transit over highway expansion
  • Safe bike paths and incentives to ride
  • Green, low-emission buses and fleets
iv.

Enhance Public Safety

Safer communities come from prevention and trust — not enforcement alone.
  • Sensible gun-safety measures for safer neighborhoods
  • Fund police training, resources, and staffing
  • Community policing and crime-prevention programs
v.

Jobs & Partnerships

Economic growth and stability come from strong public-private partnership.
  • Housing and support hubs for college graduates
  • Incentives for businesses to hire and mentor
  • Investment in underserved parts of the district
vi.

Housing & Insurance

Affordable housing and property insurance are out of reach for too many Florida families.
  • Replenish the Sadowski affordable-housing fund
  • Legislation to confront the insurance crisis
  • Safe, adequate housing for every family
